Հայոց Արշակունյաց Տրդատ արքան առաջինն էր աշխարհում, որ 301 թվականին քրիստոնեությունն ընդունեց երկրի պետական կրոն՝ դառնալով Հայաստանում քրիստոնեության տարածման մեծագույն ջատագով: Նրա անվան կողքին պատմությունը հիշատակում է նաև Աշխեն թագուհու և թագավորի քույր Խոսրովիդուխտ կույսի անունները: Խոսրովիդուխտի երազի շնորհիվ է, որ Խոր Վիրապի բանտարկությունից դուրս է գալիս Ս. Գրիգոր Լուսավորիչը և Քրիստոսի լույսը տարածում Հայոց աշխարհում: Ինչպես վկայում է Ագաթանգեղոսը, արքայի հետ մեկտեղ արքունի երկու տիկնայք ընդառաջ են գալիս Կեսարիայից հայրենիք վերադարձող Ս. Գրիգոր Լուսավորչին ու ձեռամբ առաջին քահանայապետի մկրտվում Արածանիի ջրերում: Հետագայում հայոց արքան ու թագուհին և բարեպաշտ Խոսրովիդուխտն անձամբ մասնակցում են Ս. Էջմիածնի կառուցմանը:

Commemorazione dei SS. Tiridate, re d'Armenia, Regina Ashkhen e la principessa Khosrovi Dokht

Nel 287 dC Tiridate (Tiridates), dalla casa reale di Arshagouni, assume il trono che un tempo apparteneva a suo padre e diventa Tiridate III, re di Armenia. Il suo nome è indissolubilmente legato al Santo Patrono della Chiesa armena, San Gregorio l'Illuminatore. Nel 301 dC il re rilascia il Gregory cristiana dalla prigionia e proclama il cristianesimo di essere la religione dello Stato di Armenia. In tal modo, il re diventa il più grande sostenitore della diffusione del cristianesimo in tutto il paese.
I nomi di Regina Ashkhen e la sorella del re, Khosrovi pensiero sono strettamente legati alla grande conversione dell'Armenia pure. La visione di Principessa Khosrovi Doukht di una cura per la malattia incurabile del Re provoca San Gregorio l'Illuminatore di essere liberato dalla prigione della fossa profonda. Gregory poi è libero di iniziare il processo di diffusione della luce del cristianesimo, che è il Vangelo di Gesù Cristo.
Secondo lo storico greco Agathanghelos, il re, la regina e la principessa si incontrano San Gregorio al suo ritorno da Cesarea, dove si era recato per ricevere l'ordinazione episcopale. Dopo un periodo di digiuno e preparazione, Gregory battezza loro tre. Seguono il battesimo della corte reale e la nobiltà d'Armenia. Attraverso il battesimo di Gregory, Tiridate diventa il primo re del mondo a governare un paese cristiano. La storia rivela anche che Tiridate, Ashkhen e Khosrovi dought partecipare in prima persona alla costruzione della Cattedrale di Santa Etchmiadzin. Le pietre hanno usato per costruire la cattedrale sono state portate a Vagharshapat dalle pendici del biblico monte Ararat.

Commemoration of Sts. Tiridates, King of Armenia, Queen Ashkhen and Princess Khosrovidoukht

In 287 A.D. Tiridates (Trdat), from the royal house of Arshakouni, assumes the throne which once belonged to his father and becomes Tiridates III, King of Armenia.  His name is inextricably linked with the Patron Saint of the Armenian Church, St. Gregory the Illuminator.  In 301 A.D. the king releases the Christian Gregory from imprisonment and proclaims Christianity to be the State Religion of Armenia.  In doing so, the king becomes the greatest advocate of spreading Christianity throughout the country.

The names of Queen Ashkhen and the King’s sister, Khosrovidoukht are closely related to the Great Conversion of Armenia as well.  Princess Khosrovidoukht’s vision of a cure for the King’s incurable illness causes St. Gregory the Illuminator to be liberated from the dungeon of the deep pit.  Gregory then is free to begin the process of spreading the light of Christianity, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

According to Greek historian Agathangelos, the King, the Queen and the Princess meet St. Gregory upon his return from Caesarea, to where he had traveled to receive episcopal ordination.  Following a period of fasting and preparation, Gregory baptizes the three of them.  They are followed by the baptism of the royal court and the nobles of Armenia.  Through the baptism by Gregory, Tiridates becomes the first king in the world to rule over a Christian country.  History also reveals that Tiridates, Ashkhen and Khosrovidoukht personally participate in the construction of the Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin.  The stones they used to build the cathedral were brought to Vagharshapat from the slopes of Biblical Mount Ararat.

День памяти Св. царя Трдата, царицы Ашхен и девы Хосровидухт

Армянский царь Трдат Аршакуни первым в мире принял (301г.) христианство государственной религией своей страны. Рядом с его именем история упоминает также имена царицы Ашхен и его сестры - девы Хосровидухт. Именно благодаря сну, приснившемуся Хосровидухт, вышел на свободу из заточения в монастыре Хор Вирап Св. Григорий Просветитель и начал распросранять свет Христа на армянскок земле. Как свидетельствует Агатангелос, вместе с царем Трдатом царица Ашхен и дева Хосровидухт выходят навстречу Св. Григорию Просветителю, возвращающемуся из Кесарии, и принимают крещение в водах Арацани. В дальнейшем они участвуют в строительстве Св. Эчмиадзина.
День памяти Св. царя Трдата, царицы Ашхен и девы Хосровидухт Армянская Церковь отмечает в четвертую субботу после Пятидесятницы.
